There is a ton of room for RP, which is where the game really shines. (Think Oblivion arena, but guns) As well as more traditional ways like artifact hunting (rare radioactive items that grant character bonuses), mutant hunting to sell the meat, and the good old scavenging and selling of items. There are some basic fetch/assination quests to earn money or faction specific ways like the Arena in Rostok. It then drops you in a random location that your faction is and you set out into the world. With each having a differing number of factions you are enemies with. The difficulty is essentially chosen by which faction you join. Basically what it does is combine the two popular mods Call of Chernobyl, which combines all the levels from all three Stalker games into one giant map, and the Misery mod, which is a graphical, gameplay, and systems enhancement suite.
Playing it right now and it's one of the tightest survival experiences out there.
